Apricot kernel oil is derived from the kernel of an apricot. It is very light oil. It contains strong antioxidant properties, and high levels of vitamins A, E and K. Vitamin K works to thicken your blood cells and tighten your skin. While the high content of vitamin E benefits as an antioxidant, naturally found in your skin’s own sebum. Being skin identical, it is especially soothing. As it replenishes the lost nutrients in the skin and promotes youthful glow, it is a great light oil for anti-aging purpose. It soothes the skin and slow signs of aging. Used topically, Apricot Kernel Carrier Oil moisturizes dry, sensitive skin and smooth’s out blemishes, wrinkles, fine lines, and other symptoms of maturing skin.
Due to high content of Omega-6, vitamins E and K, it is great to use for dark circles, puffiness and moisturizing the under eye area; can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes. The oil nourishes and replenishes the moisture and vitamins lost during the day to restore your skin’s natural glow and health. When applied topically, it penetrates deep into the surface of the skin and removes harmful bacteria and free radicals that can lead to infection or in general cause irritation or dryness.
However, this oil should be avoided by people who are suffering from acne or are prone to acne because this oil is slightly comedogenic, and may clog skin pores. This may result in acne breakouts and blackheads.
